VANISHED VICTORY AT BUDAPEST

High profile comeback for Matteo Bobbi in the FIA GT championship at Budapest. The Milanese driver and his crew-mate Alessandro Pier Guidi were on the verge of victory which vanished in the final stages due to a technical problem.

Bobbi has been constantly among the fastest since free practice, despite not driving the MC12 Maserati for almost a year. In race, the ex-champion of FIA GT1, has been protagonist of the second stint, offering a strong performance that would have probably been worth another victory.

A strong vibration to a tyre emerged in the final stages of the race slowed down Pier Guidi who managed to cross the finish line in third position. The subsequent disqualification of the number 14 car, first under the chequered flag, awarded Bobbi the second final position.

Matteo Bobbi:
"I am satisfied for coming back to FIA GT with a good performance even if I am a bit disappointed for missing a victory that seemed achieved. The team obtained a good one-two and there will be three more occasions to aim at the victory. We will try again in three weeks time!"

Next round of the FIA GT championship is due on 20 September at Algarve, Portugal.
