Filip Salaquarda back on the podium in Slovakia

The number 51 Ferrari Italia GT3 ended the race very close to the podium, in fourth place of its category.

Filip Salaquarda (CZ) obtained the second podium of the season in Slovakia's fourth round of the FIA GT Series 2013.

Team AF Corse's driver and his co-equiper Fabio Onidi (ITA) ended the Qualifying Race on the Slovakia Ring in third place of category PRO-AM (thirteenth absolute) after being slowed down by a puncture in qualifying held on Saturday.

The number 51 Ferrari Italia GT3 ended very close to the podium in the Main Race too as it crossed the finish line in fourth place of its category, that was also the ninth absolute.

Filip Salaquarda: "The podium of Pro-Am in the Qualifying Race is a good result but it makes me half-happy as with a bit more of luck on our side and a balance of performance penalyzing less the Ferraris we would have probably got an even better result.

In qualifying I aimed to get in the Superpole but unfortunately a puncture voided my best attempt forcing us to start more to the back than expected. In the races we obtained our best possible result with the third and fourth place of our category even if we aimed at something more in the absolute classification.

Now we will have to think on if it still makes sense to keep racing in this championship due to the unacceptable performance gap between the Ferrari 458 and the other rival cars produced by the balance of performance".

The FIA GT Series will resume next 29 September in Navarra, Spain.
