Scuderia Playteam Sarafree heads for the eighth round of the season at Brno. The Maserati MC 12 nr 11 and the two Andreas finished second, on home ground, after a very strong race and could have won if Longin had not forced Piccinini wide in the thick of the action. With this result, the drivers have scored 42 points this season and are just three points behind the leader, the Championship is wide open. "It's not over until the chequered flag," is the team's attitude heading into this important weekend at Brno.

The 5.403km race track is located 10 km northwest of Brno and is expected to be particularly hard on brakes.

Giambattista Giannocaro, team owner and driver commented, "Scuderia Playteam Sarafree is really proud to be in such a strong position in the championship. The determination of Bertolini/Piccini is remarkable. The team will give them every tool to fight for the Championship. We are very focused and want to win the title. Pirelli tyres were excellent in Adria and we are confident that be the case in Brno. The circuit suits our cars and despite the weight handicaps we hope to achieve a good result. As for us in the Maseratti MC12, Nr 12, the car should be reliable even if we suffered from gearbox problems in the last two races."

Andrea Bertolini added, "I am happy to be back in Brno, one of my two favorite racing tracks after Spa and Mugello. It won't be an easy. I know this circuit since 2001 and I like its challenge and breaking areas. It should suit our Maserati MC12 and we will do our best on the track. Until now we have not had an easy season, with unexpected problems. We lost too many points this season and we will push hard to make up for it here. We would like very much to increase our advance in the championship. The team worked very hard all along and it is now paying to have overcome the difficulties this season. The Championship is clearly opened and we will look for another podium finish."

Andrea Piccini comments: "I love Brno and it is a great track and we hope to bring some strong points back home. Brakes and tyres are going to be the keywords of the weekend with all the s-corners and we must find right away the correct set up. I wonder what the last bends will look like for us we will have 80 Kilos of weight handicap (55+ 25 kilos added) I know the track, it is difficult but good fun to drive. Luckily Andrea and I are really a good team and we have a great team spirit and will do our best in the interest of the team. We are in a great mood even we know that it is not easy to win. The last question mark of course will be the weather as we do not know what to expect this late in the season."

Alessandro Pier Guidi has already driven on the Brno track and commented, "The track is one of the most challenging tracks because it is rather twisty. There are lots of fast turns. The aero package of our cars is designated for such curves. There will be a lot of stress on the brakes. I'm confident of a good weekend ahead because we don't have weight handicap. I will do my best to push as much as I can. The entire team has the same motivation and we want to defend our second place in the championship position and fight for the lead."
