WEATHER
Changeable, with some light rain.

LISTER STORM RACING FASTEST IN GT
Jamie Campbell-Walter qualified fastest in the nr 1 Lister Storm Racing Lister Storm, his time of 1:30.225s less than one tenth of a second faster than the Nr 4 Carsport Holland Chrysler Viper GTS-R of Fabrizio Gollin and Luca Capellari. Bobby Verdon-Roe and Paul Knapfield were third fastest in their nr 15 Lister Storm Racing Lister Storm, sixth tenths of a second ahead of Andrea Piccini and Jean-Denis Deletraz in the nr 23 BMS Scuderia Italia Ferrari 550 Maranello.

Fabio Babini and Marc Duez were fourth in the nr 12 Paul Belmondo Racing Chrysler Viper after suffering an overheating engine early in the session, and Christophe Bouchut and David Terrien round off the GT Super Pole qualifiers in the nr 1 Larbre Competition Chrysler Viper GTS-R.

Bouchut's team-mate Vincent Vosse was denied the chance to go for a time when he went off in the nr 2 Larbre Competition Chrysler Viper GTS-R on his out-lap at the start of the session. "I touched a kerb, and everything broke," said Vosse. "I spun and just slowly touched the wall. The front splitter, the radiator, the floor all broke." Both drivers will have to qualify this afternoon.

Magnus Wallinder put in a heroic effort in the Henrik Roos Chrysler Viper GTS-R; the Swede coping with qualifying on his own as Roos was with his wife, who is giving birth to their second child this morning. Magnus qualified in seventh place, just outside the Superpole.

The second Carsport Holland Chrysler Viper, the nr 3 of Anthony Kumpen and Mike Hezemans, took part in the session having been repaired overnight following Kumpen's accident yesterday. The cause of the accident was traced to a broken bracket holding the left rear calliper in place. The car was running with six degrees of camber on the wheels as the team did not have time to set up the car properly. "This is just a shakedown," Kumpen explained. The car set the 8th time in GT, 1.6 seconds slower than the leading Lister Storm.

FREISINGER MOTORSPORT ON N-GT PROVISIONAL POLE
Stephane Ortelli and Emmanuel Collard were fastest in the N-GT category in their nr 54 Freisinger Motorsport Porsche GT3RS, two tenths of a second faster than the RWS Motorsport Porsche of Antonio Garcia. Local teams fared well, Johan Sturesson and Hubert Bergh qualifying third fastest in their nr 72 Podium Motorsport Porsche 996 GT3RS, while the Team Eurotech Scandinavia team of Pontus Morth and Thomas Faraas qualified sixth, the last of the N-GT Super Pole positions.

The Cirtek Motorsport Porsche of Robin Liddell and John Nielsen was fourth fastest, despite lacking fourth gear. The car went out late with Nielsen at the wheel but lost its gears when the cable broke. The team repaired it in time for the end of the session, when Liddell went out and set the time.

All of the JMB Ferrari 360 Modenas have missed the Super Pole session for this afternoon. Christian Pescatori put that down to the engines, which he claimes lack development. Tony Ring was not able to complete a single lap in the nr 52 JMB Racing Ferrari 360 Modena due to a transmission failure. "We don't know if it was the gearbox or the clutch, but I had no drive," said the Swede.

The nr 58 Autorlando Sport Porsche of Toto Wolff and Walter Lechner, who is standing in for Austrian Phillip Peter who hurt his shoulder in a water skiing accident during the week, suffered a small fire in the pit lane. Fluid leaked onto the hot engine, causing a minor conflagration but Wolff was nevertheless able to set 11th fastest time in class.
