ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport missed out on a ranking in points at start of the FIA GT1 World Championship in Abu Dhabi - Rene Munnich: New Setup should bring improvements for Silverstone and Brunn

Friedersdorf/Abu Dhabi (rol/ot) That hasn't been the intention of the Team ALL.INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport: The crew from Friedersdorf (Saxony) missed out on the targeted ranking in points at the premiere of the new FIA GT1 World Championship on Saturday (17th of April) on the track Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi. At the Qualifying neither of the two Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 RS-V with Marc Basseng (Leutenbach) and Thomas Jager (Chemnitz) in number 37 as well as Dominik Schwager (Munich) and Nicky Pastorelli (Italy/Netherlands) in number 38 came to the finish line. They have been weighted on the positions 18 and 17 and had to start from the end of the peloton at the Championship Race in the evening.

^AAt the main race it has been possible to gain points", told team principal Rene Munnich on Sunday (18th of April). ^ABut a tire damage on the car of Thomas and Marc cut off all the hopes". The Lambo #37 went into the list of results on position 17. Three positions behind there has been the Lambo #38. ^AAfter the half time of the race Nicky and Dominik had to park the car because of a transmission damage. Altogether you can say - all talk and no action", the team principal claimed disappointed like his drivers and mechanics.

And the bad mood kept on the next day as well. ^AWe're stuck here because of the ash cloud, there's just no flights back home. They told us it is possible to fly home not until next week", told Rene Munnich. ^AWe are thinking about flying with little planes to Southern Europe and from there to drive with rental cars back to Germany".

Also the preparation for the second racing weekend of the GT1 World on 2nd of May is complicated, especially because of the fact that the cars have been wrapped up right after the race for transportation and customs even if there were no flights. ^AThis is useful time that we couldn't benefit of", defined Rene Munnich. Anyhow the team principal of ALL.INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport is optimistic fort he upcoming races. ^AWe had not enough top speed at the beginning of the test drives on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi. That was getting better until the start of the races and we could reach the lap times of the Reiter-Lamborghini. However our new Setup hasn't been working quite well yet. We want to handle that until the next runs".
