Swann set for championship showdow
Bishop Stortford based Rob Swann heads to the finale rounds of the 2007 British Rally Championship embroiled in a fierce fight for the overall championship title.
Revolution Wheels backed Rob, who has enjoyed his strongest season to date, heads to Wales on the back of scoring a triumphant class win and finishing on the overall podium of the recent Tempest Rally. Rob was using this event as a shakedown for a new engine and had the Revolution Wheels general manager Warren McKiernan, a complete novice, co driving for him.
The Tempest Rally went really well for us and was a good shakedown ahead of Wales Rally GB. Last years event was really tough for us but I learnt a lot which should hold us in good stead this time around.
Rob, who will be co driven once more by Darren Garrod in the Geoff Jones Motorsport run Subaru Impreza N12, is one of a number of drivers still capable of taking the title on the 3 day long rally.
Also heading to South Wales for the season finale is the second Revolution Wheels backed driver, Dolgellau based David Meredith. David, the 2006 'stars' British Rally Champion, is contesting his first ever World Rally, and is joined by Dai Roberts in his self built Mitsubishi Evo 9 for this event.
2007 has been a massive learning year but I'm pleased with how I have developed as a driver. This is my first ever world rally and as a result I have no idea what to expect. I have been practicing making my own notes all year but a 3 day rally straight after a 2 day recce will be quite challenging.
Both Revolution Wheels backed drivers will begin preparations for Wales Rally GB with a 2 day recce before taking to the ceremonial start in Cardiff on Thursday 29th November 2007 for the three day rally.
