Revolution duo all revved up for Ulster

Revolution Wheels backed rally drivers Rob Swann and David Meredith are both eagerly anticipating this weekends Armagh based Ulster Rally, round 4 of the 2007 Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship.

Bishop Stortford based Rob, who is co-driven by Pwllheli resident Darren Garrod in his Geoff Jones Motorsport run Subaru Impreza, will be looking to build on his recent run of performances. After a puncture dropped him down to fifth on the Jim Clark Rally in June Rob became embroiled in a gripping battle for the final podium position on the recent International Rally Isle of Man, narrowly missing out on third by the slimmest of margins.

We have only had a short test ahead of Ulster but I had a good run there last year and have gained a lot of confidence in my notes and in the car and so am really looking forward to a good run this weekend!

Meanwhile Dolgellau based David, who pilots a Revolution Wheels shod Mitsubishi Evo 9, will be hoping that a recent test will help him get to grips with his car in tarmac trim. The 2006 'stars' British Rally Champion has had mixed results from his 2007 campaign but has recently spent time testing the car, which has helped build his confidence.

I've never contested the Ulster Rally before but am really looking forward to this rally. I think the competition will be really tough but am keen to go across and have a good clean rally.

The 2007 Philip White Tyres Ulster Rally is based in the town of Armagh and the 360 mile long rally begins with an intensive 12 hour recce before the event. This allows the crews the opportunity to make detailed notes ahead of the 2 day long rally which begins on Friday 31 August at 2:45pm. The ceremonial finish will be back at The Mall in Armagh on Saturday afternoon.
