At first, Robert Gough and Carl Williamson thought their luck was in when they got the call to tell them that the Welsh Rally was being moved from Epynt to Caerwent instead. They had forfeited this round of the Peugeot Super 106 Cup because of the danger of bringing Foot and Mouth back to the Ludlow area.

They were probably the only crew to be happy of the change of venue.

Unfortunately this turned into bitter disheartenment when only 400 yards into the 2nd stage, disaster struck and the infamous Kerbs of Caerwent took their toll and rendered the www.extremerides.net Peugeot immovable. They eventually got a tow out of their predicament but had unfortunately gone OTL and were unable to start the 3rd stage.

Unfortunately for Robert Gough, this was a result he could have done without.

The pair is now concentrating on their next event, the Woodpecker Stages on 1st September.
