The third round of the Ford Puma Rally Championship, the Jim Clark Memorial Rally, based in Duns, Northern England, will take place on the 30th of June to the 1st & 2nd July next.

The Scottish Rally, the last round of the Championship, was a huge success, with the 1400cc Ford Puma's scoring a devastating Class A5 victory, taking the top four places in that class and Ben Briant the class victor finishing in 25th position overall beating much more powerful machinery in the process..

The Ford Puma's VK14 are now looking to take the Jim Clark Memorial Rally by storm, as this all asphalt event will suit the Puma. The Jim Clark has in excess of 155 competitive stage miles, which will be the ultimate test of both man and machine with the event running into the early hours of the morning on both days.

The Ford Puma Rally Championship has attracted a quality entry including Simon Maugher the 1999 British Ka Rally Championship, Ian Chadwick the runner up in the 1999 Irish KA Rally Championship, Donagh Kelly winner of Class 5 in the 1999 Irish Tarmac Rally Championship and Ben Briant, class winner in the 1999 San Remo WRC round.

All the crews are looking forward to the next round as each crew is still capable of taking the Championship victory and with it the works drive in San Remo. The 2000 Ford Puma Rally Championship is the first one make rally championship to use works specification identically prepared 1400 Ford Puma Kit Cars. The Ford Racing Puma Rally Championship is designed to promote young rallying talent and is part of the Ford Motor Company's stairway to success, that sees the Ford Motor Company providing young drivers with competitive rally machinery throughout the careers. The Jim Clark memorial Rally will be the third out of five events based in Ireland and the UK.
