Dave Villwock and Miss Budweiser Take General Motors Cup at Seafair.
(Seattle, Wash.)-- Dave Villwock drove Bernie Little's Miss Budweiser to victory in today's General Motors Cup at Seattle, Wash., the fifth race of the Budweiser Unlimited Hydroplane Series.
Celebrating the return of team owner Bernie Little with a perfect day, the Miss Budweiser team combined a strong set-up for the windy race course with savvy driving by Villwock to score their third victory of the season. Villwock took the lead from Mark Tate on the backstretch of lap one and led to the finish. Little had missed the last three races after a bout of pneumonia. He vowed to return to Seattle, where he has never missed a race in his 40 year Unlimited hydroplane career." I'll have a smile all the way home," said Little.
"Having Bernie here meant a lot to me and to the entire Miss Budweiser team" said Villwock."He has a calming influence that helps us a lot, especially me."
"I don't really want to ever fly the boat like that again," said runner-up Nate Brown who valiantly chased Villwock to the finish in the U-16 Miss Elam Plus. Third place went to veteran Mark Tate in the U-2 Miss Trendwest.
The General Motors Cup at Seafair will be televised on ESPN2 on Sunday, August 25 at 2:00 PM (EDT).

Dave Villwock still leads in the O'Doul's National High Points Championship standings. Villwock leads the championship with 722 points over Nate Brown with 630 points and Michael Hanson with 496 points. Mark Tate currently sits in fourth with 544 points and Terry Troxell is fifth with 482 points.

Miss Budweiser team owner Bernie Little got Seafair race day started with some exciting news.
