Flyin' Dutchman de Reuver wins 125cc class.

ARNHEM, Holland (December 14, 2002) - Team Yamaha's Chad Reed became the first Australian to win a 250cc THQ World Supercross GP presented by UFO Plast at the Gelredome in Arnhem, Holland. Frenchman David Vuillemin, who also rides for Team Yamaha, finished second and holds the series points lead by six points and Honda's Mike LaRocco finished third. Marc de Reuver won the 125cc main event.

Sebastien Tortelli, a native of France, earned the UFO Plast holeshot award with Vuillemin and Reed holding second and third respectively. Reed swept by Tortelli and Vuillemin on lap one for the lead. Before crashing on lap nine, Tortelli held the number three position.

On lap 13 LaRocco moved into third place, passing Team KTM/Red Bull's Grant Langston, who is a native of South Africa. The win for Reed gave his sponsors Thor and Parts Unlimited their first 250cc main event win.

"I am glad this is the world championship," said Reed. "I am ready to win each week from here on out. I don't practice hard all week to come here and lose. I wanted this win all week, and I am ready to go back to America and keep winning."

"I was sick all week, so I am happy with my results," said Vuillemin. "I am ready to go back to the U.S. and compete for the rest of the series."
