Kent, Wash. (June 24, 2003) -- The All Harley Drag Racing Association (AHDRA) continues the 2003 National Points Series this weekend at the Kresto Pacific Nationals presented by Eastside Harley-Davidson. The final of four June events, competition is guaranteed to be intense June 28th- 29th at Pacific Raceways in Kent, Wash.

Top-Fuel racers will scorch the quarter-mile track on two wheels in only seven seconds, at speeds over 200 mph.

Local favorite Ron Houniet, of Mission B.C. the 2002 AHDRA Top-Fuel National Champion returns to defend his 2002 Top-Fuel crown at Pacific Raceways.

Winner or the 2002 Top-Fuel Kresto Pacific Nationals, Houniet scored low E.T. for the event at 6.890 seconds.

Racers from the U.S. and Canada will make their way to Pacific Raceways, in Kent Wash., for what promises to be a weekend full of thundering horsepower on the quarter-mile strip competing for over $50,000 in posted awards.

With the series just past the midway mark, the competition is heating up. Doug Vancil, of Albuquerque, NM, is leading the point race in the 220 mph Screamin' Eagle Nitro Harley series. Vancil set a new MPH record of 217.25 in Norwalk, Ohio.

Northwest favorite Kristine Becker, of Everett, Wash., is entered for her first AHDRA event of the 2003 season in the Pro-Fuel division.

Racing action gets under way on Saturday, with qualifying at 9:00 a.m. On Sunday, opening ceremonies kick off at 12:15 p.m. with a special performance by the Seattle Cossacks. Sportsman eliminations begin at 9:00 a.m. and Pro eliminations begin at 1:00 p.m.

Admission to the Kresto Pacific Nationals presented by Eastside Harley-Davidson is $40 for weekend passes and $25 for single-day passes. H.O.G. members receive a $5 discount at the gate, and children under 12 are admitted free. AHDRA also offers free admission to active and reserve military personnel with military identification.

Notes of Interest Eastside Harley-Davidson (located at 13131 N.E. 20th Street, Bellevue, WA) will lead off the excitement on Thursday, June 26th, at the official AHDRA Kick Start Party, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Fans can stop by for food, fun, and a chance to meet the racers of AHDRA.

On Sunday, June 29, motorcycle riders from all over the Northwest will participate in Children's Ride 8. Seattle Seahawk Defense Tackle Chad Eaton, along with actor Dan Haggerty, will lead the escorted ride from the new Seattle Seahawk Stadium to Pacific Raceways. Proceeds from Children's Ride 8 benefit uncompensated care and diabetes research at Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center.
