Marquez wins second Superprestigio Dirt Track title
Marc Marquez has won the fourth edition of the Superprestigio Dirt Track event in Barcelona, beating Toni Elias and Brad Baker in the final heat to take the title for the second time.
Three-time MotoGP champion Marquez, who topped Friday night's practice sessions and Saturday qualifying, dominated all four of the Superprestigio class heats he contested, booking his place in the Superfinal along with Elias, Marcel Schrotter and Xavier Simeon.
This quartet were joined by the top four riders in the Open class, reserved for regular off-road riders. In this class, two-time event winner and former AMA Flat Track champion Baker was the reference, winning two of the three heats.
In the 27th and final heat of the evening, Marquez quickly escaped out front, while Baker was left behind until being overtaken by Elias.
It marks Marquez's second triumph at the Palau Sant Jordi arena after his 2014 win, drawing him level with Baker, who won in both 2013 and 2015.
Behind the top three, Simeon was fourth, ahead of Gerard Bailo - second best of the Open riders - Schrotter, Ferran Cardus and Thomas Chareyre, who fell while pushing Baker for third.
