WORCESTER, Mass. (January 11, 2003) - The second weekend of IFMA competition opened with Beau Bamburg taking Friday night's victory away from Nate Adams by the narrowest of margins. Saturday's first show saw Nate Adam's take second once again as Adam Jones put together a flawless run capped with a "Double McMetz" securing the victory. Saturday night came down to the final run as Nate Adams sat in the "Performance Cycles Hot Seat" while Bamburg rode for the final time. Needing to beat Adams' 93.1, Bamburg rode with precision, nailing every combination ending his run with the sterilizer. Bamburg's score of 93.0 was not enough to take Adams out of the Hot Seat. After finishing second in the previous two events, Nate Adams finally came away with a win.
Inconsistency plagued Adam Jones as he finished the weekend with a seventh, first and eighth place respectively. Jimmie McGuire put together strong runs earning two third place finishes and a fifth place spot.
"It seems like the only time you can beat Adam Jones now is when he makes a mistake," said Beau Bamburg after his Saturday night run. "Nate rode great tonight, I knew it was only a matter of time before he won one." <pre> Friday's IFMA Results 1. Beau Bamburg 93.0 2. Nate Adams 92.9 3. Jimmie McGuire 92.3
