The worlds largest freestyle motocross tour - The International Freestyle Motocross Tour - kicks off the 2003 season with a cowboy round up!

Salt Lake City, UT, (January 4, 2003) -

Friday
The 2003 season has been officially kicked OFF! Salt Lake City got to crown the first winner of the new season Kenny Bartram. The way it came down was a renewal of the battle of last year. Dustin Miller was back on tour with a new Honda and new sponsors renewed determination not to disappoint. The bragging rights were on the line Friday night and it came down to the 2001 and the 2002 IFMA champs. Kenny "The Cowboy" Bartram was fluid and put together a quality run that impressed both the judges and the crowd and gave him his first win of the New Year. Matt Buyten put a good run together knocking off Tommy "The Tomcat" Clowers. "Mad" Mike Jones riding a borrowed bike proved that he is a world class Freestyle competitor. After flying all night long with an hour of sleep he went down twice in his 1st qualifying run trying some no "handed lander" combos that rookies wouldn't even think about. Jones was the last qualifier to make it in the 2nd round but bike problems kept him well out of the running for the win.

Saturday
The Kenny Bartram round up continued on Saturday night. Dustin Miller was pulling moves with such easy it looked as if it were a video game. "Mad" Mike Jones was not able to make the finals tonight but was able to launch his bike into the wall after a side saddle-lander. The crowd went into a frenzy at the Jones antic which will certainly provide a clip for the highlight real on the Outdoor Life Network (OLN). OLN will be replaying both Salt Lake competitions on February 16th and 23rd. The crowd of nearly 12,000 that attended the Saturday tonight competition left with an indelible impression of their professionalism and skill. <pre> Point Summary FRIDAY Kenny Bartram 93.0 Dustin Miller 91.9 Matt Buyten 90.8
