KANSAS CITY, Mo. (December 7, 2002) -- The 2002 IFMA season came to a close at the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Mo. with Kenny Bartram already securing the 2002 IFMA Championship, the rest of the IFMA field could only prepare for 2003.
"The Rookie" Adam Jones took Friday night's competition by storm with a huge arsenal of tricks. Jones was on fire, not looking like a rookie anymore, Jones held off Beau Bamburg, Ronnie Renner and Jake Windham for his third consecutive IFMA win.
"I felt really good tonight, I was able to do everything I wanted and it was good enough to take the win," said Adam Jones after the Friday night's win.
Saturday night Adam Jones completed the sweep of the final competition of the 2002 IFMA season. Ronnie Renner came out and put on a show for the Kansas City crowd, but in the end, Jones stood strong and came away with his fourth straight IFMA win. Robert Distler became the first rider to pull off the triple saran wrap to no-handed lander but could not put together a final run to overtake Jones.
"Four straight wins, what can I say? I am happy to be riding so well, I have to give credit to all the riders tonight for stepping it up and pushing the bar. I am glad that I came away with the win," said Adam Jones after completing the sweep in Kansas City.
