AURORA, Ill. (May 4, 2002) - The IFMA and Clear Channel Entertainment's motor sports division announced today the 2002 IFMA Freestyle Motocross fall series schedule of events. By adding new events including Louisville, Ky., Oklahoma City, Kansas City, and more, the IFMA prepares for the largest fall series to date.
The IFMA is coming off the biggest winter series ever, bringing in over 400,000 spectators over 17 weekends of competition.
Included in the fall series are the two remaining Vans Triple Crown of Freestyle Motocross events. With round one, the Mountain Dew National Championship of Freestyle Motocross completed, only the X-Box Pro and the Vans World Championships remain. Many of the favorite competitors will be back for the fall series. 'Mad Mike' Jones, Dustin Miller, Drake McElroy and Kenny Bartram headline the list of top freestyle riders competing for the 2002 IFMA championship and the Vans Triple Crown.
Additionally, the IFMA will host a Freestyle Motocross preview performance of some of the latest bag of tricks in IFMA at Las Vegas' EA SPORTS Supercross Finals in the motor sports open pits area. A ticket to the supercross is required for admission.
"We're extremely proud of the elevated performances the riders have delivered and in the growth of our fall season. We are still in the process of adding some additional events to 2002 on top of this, but wanted to notify the hard-core fans, who have been tremendously supportive, that we are back in several of their favorite markets and more," said TD Lovett, vice president of IFMA Freestyle Motocross.
