Matt Kuhne arrived back in the U.K after last week heading of to the Official Moto GP IRTA testing at Catalunya. Matt spent three days at the track to watch the 250 and Moto GP class and also to meet as many people as he could. Matt had a great time and said that it was a shame that it ended so soon.
First of all I'm going to start of with "WOW!!!". Barcelona was the first IRTA test I have ever been to and I must say it is awesome. I couldn't believe how big it actually was and best of all how big and professional the setup of the teams are. One of the reasons for my visit to the test was to catch up with one of my mates Casey Stoner. So one of my first requests to Casey was for a tour through his setup. I can't believe how different the setups here in Europe are compared to the fly away rounds that I have been to and seen.
Throughout the weekend I met allot of people and caught up with allot of the riders and teams. I spent most of my time with Casey Stoner and Chaz Davies. It was good to see how the GP teams and riders worked with one another and especially to hear what rider feedback the riders gave. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to be allowed to listen in to Casey and his team having a chat about how they could improve the bike. It was very helpful in helping me understand more about how to setup a bike.
Another highlight of my weekend was chatting to Valentino Rossi and sitting on his bike. Unfortunately Rossi this weekend wasn't able to drive away with another BMW but keeps his head up high as all the teams are back at it again this week at Jerez. I leave this Friday to my first BSB race and I am looking forward to it. My goal for this weekend is for a win. Allot easier said than done but I am going to do and give my very best. I'll keep you up-to-date everyday with how everything goes.
Cheers Matt Kuhne
