AURORA, Ill. (October 15, 2003) - The Maxxis U.S. Open, the world's richest motocross race, for the third time played host to the Amateur Arenacross World Finals. The finals, again were held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. The top three riders in points throughout the six regions nationwide and in Canada each received invitations to compete on the grandest amateur motocross stage in the world.

The amateur arenacross season began last November and continued on through the end of March. Riders competed in their own respective region in the 16 different classes ranging from 50cc 4-6 Years up to the Over 30 class. Nearly three hundred amateurs who qualified made the journey to Las Vegas to compete for the championship in their class.
