Spa BF3: Norris scores double win, Collard keeps points lead

At the start of Race 1, polesitter Norris led the way from Carlin teammate Ricky Collard, with Double R Racing’s Matheus Leist moving up to third position.

However, the race was quickly neutralised when Eugene Denyssen and Aleksanteri Huovinen made contact, bringing out the safety car.

When the action resumed, Collard got a better run out of Eau Rouge, passing Norris at Les Combes to take the lead of the race.

But Norris was able to make the same move on the next lap and establish a comfortable buffer at the front of the pack.

Midway through the race, Akhil Rabindra and Quinlan Lall were involved in a hefty collision, sending the former into the barrel roll.

The race was stopped immediately and never resumed, as Lall had to be extricated from the car and taken to the hospital for medical checks.

The results were taken from the previous lap, with Norris claiming his third win of the season, ahead of Collard and Leist.

Douglas' Enaam Ahmed, who had passed returning Will Palmer at the start, finished fourth, ahead of Lanan's Toby Sowery.

Randle charges from ninth to take Race 2 win

In race two, Fortec's Tarun Reddy got a perfect getaway from third passing front row starters Al Faisal Al Zubair and Ben Hingeley to take the lead of the race.

But within a couple of laps, Reddy found himself under pressure from Sowery, who had made an equally good start from fourth place.

The two drivers traded positions for multiple laps before Sowery made the move stick at the final chicane to take the lead.

Behind, Randle made five places from ninth to fourth by end of the first lap, and, after dispatching Ahmed, the Australian passed Reddy to take second place.

The Douglas driver then closed in on Sowery, reeling in the Brit along the Kemmel straight to take an unlikely victory.

Sowery settled for second ahead of Indian Reddy, with Ahmed finishing fourth while Leist completed the top five. Championship leader Collard finished sixth.

Norris takes comfortable win in final race

At the start of the final race, Palmer led from pole position, with Collard jumping Leist for second place but a mistake dropped the British driver to fourth.

However, the 2014 British F4 champion had little time to rejoice, with Norris right on the tail of the Englishman.

On lap five, Norris made the move stick on Palmer which handed him his second win of the weekend as Palmer eventually finished third after being passed by Leist.

Outside the rostrum spots, Sowery passed both Race 2 winner Randle and championship leader Collard on the final lap to take fourth place.

At the end of fifth round, Collard continues to lead the standings with 354 points. Leist is second, a mere four points behind, while Randle is third on 335 points.
