RYAN LEWIS WELL-PREPARED FOR IMPORTANT WEEKEND AT SILVERSTONE
Since the last British F3 outing at Monza last month Ryan Lewis has been busy preparing for the remaining races in the 2005 Series. The young Briton has been in action at Pembrey and Snetterton taking part in important tests with the T-Sport team where they have been working on developments for the next few races.
In addition to the F3 tests Ryan took the opportunity to drive a Formula Renault car at the Nurburgring recently. As he has never raced at the German track it was a great chance to learn the circuit ahead of the F3 races there in early September.
Ryan is looking forward to the Silverstone event which, like Monza, will stage three rounds of the British F3 International Series: one race on Saturday and two on Sunday. Saturday's race is the second postponed race from Spa last April, a race Ryan has been looking forward to as he will start from the front row of the grid after taking the second fastest qualifying time at Spa.
"This should be a good weekend for us," said Ryan. "We tested at the Grand Prix circuit earlier this year and our times were comparable with Piquet's 2004 pole time. We have a good balance for this track so I'm delighted to be starting the first race from the front row. It's important for us to qualify well though for the other two races but if we do that then I think our chances are good."
Ryan will be on track with T-Sport tomorrow (Tuesday) at Silverstone making final preparations for this weekend's event. He is currently lying in sixth position in the highly-competitive Championship class but the scores are tight from second place to eighth making this a vital weekend for the Series.
