CONWAY WINS MAXIMUM CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS AT PAU

Pau, France-4 June 2006: Mike Conway (Sevenoaks, Kent) has scored his second successive win in the British Formula 3 Championship class in round five of the series held at Pau's thrilling street circuit.

The infamously tricky street course threw up its share of challenges for the troop of British F3 drivers who took their chances on the narrow, nippy route through the heart of the Pyrenean town.

But Conway showed his class by out-qualifying the British F3 contenders in both the first and second qualifying sessions and then topping the Championship class and scoring the point for the fastest lap to earn a total of 21 championship points in the first race held on a hot Sunday evening.

The Raikkonen Robertson Racing driver finished the race second overall - splitting two invitation class Signature-Plus drivers, Formula 3 Euroseries regulars with a depth of experience at the Pau street course.

Conway expressed he was happy with the result. "It's a great circuit, with lots of thrills and challenges so it's good to do well here and excellent to be at the top of the podium again after Donington. We're finding more speed as the weekend progresses and the team have put a lot of work into the car all weekend so a big thank you to them. I'm looking forward to the second race tomorrow."

Conway starts from the second row for round six of the British Formula 3 Championship in Pau, which starts Monday at 4pm GMT.
