British racing driver Jack Harvey continued his strong form in the last two tests ahead of the start of the 2012 Cooper Tires British F3 Championship.

The penultimate pre-season test saw Harvey test at one of the Racing Steps Foundation’s favourite tracks on the calendar; Silverstone. In the morning Harvey was suffering with a brake issue which meant he was losing time on the straights but this was rectified in time the afternoon session where he posted the third fastest time of the afternoon, despite running on old tyres for most of the session.

Harvey and the Carlin team then headed to Oulton Park for the final test before the season kicks off at this Cheshire circuit on the 7th April. Continuing to work through the test programme, Harvey posted some solid and consistent lap times in the morning, which saw him finish the session P3. Despite the track slowing in the afternoon, Harvey continued to postsome flying laps and posted a best of 1m 28.945s to top the session despite being on old tyres.

“We’ve had a really productive final two tests at Silverstone and Oulton Park. We had a few problems with the car at both tests but these were quickly rectified and at the end of the day that is what testing is for. It’s clear we’ve got a really strong car this year and I’m very happy with how things have gone at all four tests;” commented Jack Harvey.

“Looking back, we’ve been consistently in the top three at all of the tests and we’re in a great position heading into the first round of the Championship next week. Our expectations remain high and we will be aiming for pole position and race wins at Oulton Park to kick start our Championship fight;” continued Harvey.
