Wednesday, 12 April 2006 - CSS Stellar Management today announced the signing of Charlie Kimball. Charlie made a big impact in his debut season in British Formula 3, his 5 race wins and a total of 13 podiums securing him an overall 2nd place in the 2005 driver standings. The Californian will now contest the highly competitive Formula 3 Euroseries Championship in 2006 with the Signature Team.
Philippe Sinault, managing director of the Signature team comments, "I've been following Charlie's career closely for several years and have been very impressed with his excellent driving. I'm delighted that a driver of Charlie's great ability will be driving for us in the 2006 Formula 3 Euroseries. It will be a steep learning curve with different tyres and new circuits but I'm certain Charlie will quickly rise to the challenge. We can't wait for the next race in Lausitz on 29-30 April."
Speaking on their latest signing, Julian Jakobi said, "Charlie is a very talented young driver who has the potential to go all the way to Formula 1. He has achieved so much already and we are looking forward to working with him in the future starting with his campaign in the Formula 3 Euroseries."
Charlie is enthusiastic with the challenge ahead: "The Formula 3 Euroseries will be all new to me and I'll have a lot to learn very quickly, including brushing up on my French," Kimball said. "The championship is truly international and will involve a lot of travelling, so for the time being I'll continue to be based out of the UK. I'm really excited to be working with CSS Stellar and looking forward to a new season of racing. Over the years, CSS has been responsible for developing the reputation of many champions and I'm proud to be one of their drivers."
