A fairly severe hailstorm just before the session again had everyone (except the Carlin Motorsport lads) trying to get out as soon as possible. The first person to show strongly was Marcus Ericsson (Fortec Motorsport), who shot to provisional pole just ahead of Atte Mustonen and John Martin, both driving for Double R Racing (as Raikkonen Robertson Racing have now decided they should be called). However, at this point the highly-rated Swede was over a second faster than anyone else. Perhaps the weather conditions reminded him of home or something. Max Chilton (Hitech Racing) was 5th just ahead of team-mate Walter Grubm
