Marcus Mahy injury update

Marcus Mahy was involved in a brutal crash with Vadim Kogay during the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps

British racer Marcus Mahy is no longer unconscious following the violent accident that forced officials to red flag the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps Saturday.

He was extracted from the car and airlifted to a local hospital following the crash. He was put under with a medically-induced coma, but has since been woken up. Reports suggest that he will undergo surgery on his neck in the near future.

He is moving all of his limbs and responding to medical tests in a positive manner as well. Nothing more is known regarding the 53 year-old's condition at this time. Vadim Kogay was also transported to a local hospital, but has since been released.
