Christian Szymczak took the pole for the Barber Dodge Pro Series race at the CART Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio with a fast time of 1:24.608 seconds (96.076 mph) on his last lap of the second qualifying session today. The times for today's session were mostly slower than on Friday's first qualifier, as only a few drivers were able to improve their starting position. Szymczak will share the front row for tomorrow's race with the provisional polesitter, points leader A.J. Allmendinger. Allmendinger was fastest for most of today's session until Szymczak turned his hot lap just as a red flag halted the session. Szymczak was 6th in yesterday's session.

Dan Di Leo was the only other driver to improve his position in the top ten today. His lap of 1:24.954 moved him from 10th yesterday to 7th today. Young Team Rahal driver, Danica Patrick, was also able to move forward on the grid today with a 1:25.226 to move from 14th on yesterday's list to 11th on the final grid.

The top ten starters for tomorrow will be: Szymczak, Allmendinger, Julio Campos, Rafael Sperafico, Marc Breuers, Leonardo Maia, Di Leo, Davy Cook, Josh Rehm and Memo Rojas.

The Barber Dodge Pro Series race will take the green flag tomorrow, Sunday, August 11th at 10:15 am.
