Rafael Sperafico took his Barber-CART Scholarship Team Dodge Reynard straight to the top of the time sheets in the morning warm-up for round 10 of the Barber Dodge Pro Series. Supporting the CART FedEx Motorola 220 at Road America, Barber Dodge drivers took to a rain plagued track for the morning warm-up that has continued to wreak havoc for much of the day. As result the start of the Barber Dodge Pro Series race originally scheduled for 3:45 p.m. CDT will be moved back at least one hour, possibly more. Live timing will still be available when the race begins.

Torrential rains greeted race fans and crews dousing the track for the Barber Dodge warm-up. Sperafico who starts the race from the 13th slot on the grid mastered the slippery conditions best posting a time of 2.51.606 sec around the 4-mile length of Road America. Polesitter Sepp Koster was second quickest with a time of 2:52.442 sec. Third quickest was Akihira Okamoto. The rains have ended though threatening clouds still linger. A dry race is expected but weather has proved fickle all weekend.

The rain really intensified as torrents of water seemingly gushed from the sky leading to flooding problems on the track. The CART FedEx Motorola 220 as a result was forced to shut down for approximately 45 minutes in order to drain water gathered in turn-12.
