The Floridian makes the most of his time between events.

Barber-CART driver Scott Poirier continues to stay sharp between Formula Dodge National Championship rounds, contesting the Citrus Enduro Series in Florida. Round Two of the series was recently held at Moroso Motorsports Park where rain -- a constant drizzle all day and at times a downpour -- made for exciting racing.

The Skip Barber trained racer, currently fourth in 2002 National Championship standings, qualified the #82 Autohaus Motorsports Mercedes-Benz 190E on pole and eventually led the majority of the race before handing the machine over to co-driver Ken Stepney at the 50 minute mark of the 1.5 hour event. The National Championship runoff winner turned in a flawless performance allowing the Autohaus Motorsports team to capture another victory.

"I am honored to be a part of Autohaus Motorsports and happy with this weekend's result," said the 19-year-old from Deerfield Beach. "Although the car was strong in the wet, there is still a little we can do to improve its performance," continued Poirier. "Special thanks to Mr. Kirland and Theresa for the opportunity and the crew's help and support during the race."
