"Di Leo looks for his second win of the season and the chance to tighten the points race"
TORONTO, ONTARIO (July 3, 2003) Markham, Ontario resident Daniel Di Leo (Di Leo Auto Sports / Select Auto Collision / Bell / Sparco) heads to the temporary road course at the Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland, Ohio this weekend to compete in round #6 of the Barber Dodge Pro Series (BDPS). Di Leo, who has one victory on the season and sits second in the points, is very optimistic about his chances in this upcoming event as the series gets the crossed flags and makes the turn towards the second half of the season.
Di Leo, a former multiple karting champion and a graduate of the Skip Barber Formula Dodge National Championship series is now focused on the famed US Bank Cleveland Grand Prix event that takes place this coming weekend July 3 - 5 at the Burke Lakefront Airport. As the battle for the championship continues, Daniel remains very focused on the task at hand but is also extending his sights onwards to the next event which takes place in his home town of Toronto, Ontario.
"I can't wait to finally get home and race in front of my friends and family," stated Di Leo. "It is a challenge trying to keep in contact with friends when you are on the road so much." While at home and away, Daniel has been working hard on his nutrition and physical fitness program. He has been eating healthy and working out to ensure that he is in the best possible shape for the remaining BDPS events and the chance to move up the motorsports ladder next season.
With his consistent top 7 finishes and his recent win at Laguna Seca, Di Leo has improved on his standings in the points race and now sets his sights on catching series point leader and good friend Leonardo Maia. Daniel sits in a strong 2nd, a mere two points ahead of third and twenty-five points out of 1st for the prestigious Barber Dodge championship. Di Leo will show his grit and determination this coming weekend as he will be looking to again take the top step on the podium.
Daniel will hit the track on Thursday July 3 at 12:15pm for his first practice session of the weekend and he will look to put his Select Auto Collision Dodge race car on the provisional pole in first round qualifying at 5:45 pm.
