Autosport Awards

The Autosport Awards are a series of awards presented by motor racing magazine Autosport to drivers that have achieved significant milestones each season. Some of the presentations are selected by the general public via a reader's poll.

Robert Kubica’s victory for Ferrari at the Le Mans 24 Hours has won Autosport’s 2025 Moment of the Year presented by Bahrain International Circuit.

The ex-Formula 1 driver starred at Le Mans, driving AF Corse’s satellite Ferrari 499P with Yifei Ye and Phil Hanson. The trio secured Ferrari’s 12th Le Mans win just 14.1 seconds ahead of the chasing Porsche.

Le Mans victory was Kubica’s biggest success since returning to motorsport following his serious rally crash in 2011.

Motorsport readers voted the win as the top motorsport moment of 2025, ahead of Alex Palou breaking his Indianapolis 500 duck, Lando Norris winning the British Grand Prix, Oliver Rowland securing his first Formula E crown, the Marquez brothers finishing 1-2 in the MotoGP standings, Max Verstappen’s Nurburgring victory on his GT3 debut, and Kyle Larson snatching the NASCAR Cup title at the Phoenix finale.

Kubica’s success was announced at a star-studded 38th Autosport Awards at London’s Roundhouse on 21 January. It is the first time Moment of the Year has been won by someone in the World Endurance Championship.

Other categories decided by fan voting include Driver of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Competition Car of the Year, Rally Driver of the Year and British Competition Driver of the Year. Two new awards for 2025 are Team of the Year and Creator of the Year.

Further awards, decided by expert judging panels, include the Pioneering and Innovation Award, Promoter of the Year and Brand Partnership of the Year.
