LAS VEGAS - Nevada residents and all ticket-holders for NASCAR weekend are being offered a special deal by Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
LVMS will give $5 off the regular $25 admission price of the Feb. 28 NASCAR Winston West event at The Bullring to anyone with a Nevada ID or a ticket to Orleans Pole Day, the Sam's Town 300 or the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400. Anyone camping at LVMS will receive the discount as well.
"We wanted to reward our local residents who are so vital to the success of this speedway as well as the visitors who support our national events," said Chris Powell, LVMS' executive vice president and general manager. "This will be the first event with the new grandstands at the Bullring and a great way to kick off the biggest sports weekend in Nevada."
This will be the first race ever for the Winston West stars at the Bullring. Las Vegas' Brendan Gaughan, the defending series champion, will lead some of the West Coast's best drivers in this 300-lap event. The Winston West race will be joined by a 20-lap
Legends cars feature and a 30-lap Grand American Modified feature. Racing begins at 5:30 p.m. and the Winston West race starts at 7.
This is the first of two stops at LVMS for the Winston West series this year. The series returns to the 1.5-mile superspeedway on Oct. 13 as part of a triple-header with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series.
The NASCAR Winston West event will open a five-day racing extravaganza at LVMS. The week is highlighted by the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 NASCAR Winston Cup event on Sunday, March 4. The Sam's Town 300 NASCAR Busch Series event is slated for Saturday, March 3. The Pennzoil World of Outlaws will compete for three nights on March 1-3 at the half-mile dirt track.
