Aventis Behring Bestows Honorary Pit Crew Member Status on Maxim Michalkin
Victory Lane Kids" provides children who have life-threatening illnesses the chance to experience the thrill of NASCAR racing. At the New Hampshire International Speedway this weekend, the thrill for one Russian boy will be even greater.
Maxim Michalkin, an 18-year-old from the Chernobyl area, will be a special guest of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Driver Lance Norick and his sponsor Aventis Behring this Saturday. Maxim will be lending a helping hand in the pit during the New England 200, just as Aventis Behring helped him in his time of need.
The son of a Russian cobbler, Maxim was very ill. He had already lost his older brother to complications from hemophilia, and his parents weren't sure where to turn when Maxim needed a life-saving surgery. The Chernobyl Children's Project, USA provided the necessary surgery and Aventis Behring provided the necessary products for his surgery. Now "Max" is in the USA for a month visiting his doctors for his final check-ups. Through the Victory Lane Kids program and the Chernobyl Children's Project USA, Maxim was chosen to be an honorary pit crew member on Lance Norick's #90 Aventis Behring Choice Chevy Silverado Crew.
Victory Lane Kids was developed for children who have been treated with coagulation therapies developed by Aventis Behring, LLC. Aventis Behring makes the blood clotting products that allow people with hemophilia to live healthy, active lives. Hemophilia is a flaw in the body's blood clotting system, making it difficult to control bleeding even after minor injuries.
Six Flags New England becomes Associate Sponsor
Aventis Behring offered an Associate Sponsorship package to local businesses in conjunction with their #90 ABChoice Chevy Silverado. Six Flags New England chose to join the Victory Lane Kids at the New England 200. Six Flags New England donated over 125 tickets in exchange for this associate sponsorship, allowing the chapter a place to hold their annual meeting. Aventis Behring sells associate sponsorships at each race and the proceeds go back into that local hemophilia community.
