PITTSBURGH--(AutomotiveWire)--July 6, 2001--Truck Outfitters has signed a sponsorship agreement with NHRA Competition Eliminator Driver and pro stock truck engine builder, Larry Pritchett for the 2001 racing season.
Pritchett, a racing veteran, won his first national title in 1995 at the Pontiac Excitement Nationals in Columbus, Ohio. He won additional titles in 1996, 98 and 99. In 2000 Pritchett was the number one qualifier at three divisional races and won a total of five Federal Mogul Divisional Races and earned a first place in Federal Mogul All Star Points. These wins gave him enough points to repeat as Division 2 Competition Eliminator Champion. In the Federal Mogul All Star Race in June 2000, Pritchett qualified as number one in the race of the eight best cars in the country and he won the race. He also won the national Winston No Bull Showdown in Bristol, Tennessee.
"We're proud to sponsor Larry's racing team this year," said Truck Outfitters CEO, David McConnell. "We're honored that Larry, who ranked second in the country last year, has agreed to fly our colors in the races and other promotional activities for us."
Pritchett will drive his Gary Jennings-built 2000 Pontiac Grand AM for Truck Outfitters. This sponsorship is an extension of Pritchett's pro stock truck engine building and advisory role for the Dave McConnell Pro Stock Truck racing team. Pritchett will enter McConnell's pro stock truck in Indianapolis later in this season.
"My team is being officially sponsored by the e-commerce division of Truck Outfitters - etruckoutfitters.com and there is another definite connection to racing through this relationship," said Pritchett. "The Truck Outfitter's e-commerce engine is powered by DriverFx, an offshoot of Keystone, the auto supply company founded by racing veteran, Joe Amato. Although the race car will feature the etruckoutfitters logo, I have visited Truck Outfitters' stores and I was impressed by the expertise of the staff and the quality and selection of merchandise offered in the stores as well as on the website."
Truck Outfitters, founded and headquartered in Pittsburgh, specializes in the sale and installation of pick-up truck accessories for enthusiasts who use their trucks for work and leisure. The company offers complete onsite installation of thousands of truck accessories purchased from the store or through the DriverFx affiliate, etruckoutfitters.com, which is also linked from the NHRA homepage.
