WATKINS GLEN, NY (JULY 24, 2000) - Watkins Glen International's President, Bryan R. Sperber announced today that Tops Friendly Markets will be the official supermarket of The Glen. In addition, Tops and Watkins Glen will kick off the partnership by launching a promotion that gives fans a "Bonus Buy."

The "Tops/Watkins Glen Bonus Buy 3 Pack" gives fans more bang for their buck. All fans can go to participating Tops Friendly Markets to buy tickets for the Global Crossing @ The Glen NASCAR Winston Cup Series event. Using the Tops BonusCard, fans can purchase 2 tickets for Tier B seats in the Silver and Esses grandstands and receive an additional ticket FREE! Tickets are available through any of the Tickets.com outlets in participating Tops Friendly Markets stores. "Bonus Buy 3 Pack" quantities are limited, therefore fans are urged to cash in on this deal quickly.

"At Tops, we're always looking for new ways to create a fun and exciting shopping experience for our customers," said Charlene Craven, Tops district coach. "Our partnership with The Glen will allow us to offer our customers many exciting programs. In addition to the 'Bonus Buy 3 Pack,' we will set up an actual Tops store at the race track during the Global Crossing at The Glen offering items from snacks to sodas and aspirin to camping supplies to make shopping even more convenient for race fans."

Tops is the sixth New York-based company to form a partnership with The Glen. In addition to Tops, Watkins Glen has relationships with Global Crossing, Bully Hill Vineyards, Chemung Canal Trust Company, the New York State Lottery, and Corning Incorporated.

"Watkins Glen is tremendously excited to join forces with one of New York's premier retailers - Tops Friendly Markets," said track president, Bryan Sperber. "Tops' loyal customers are the same race fans that have supported Watkins Glen International over the last 52 years. We are particularly pleased that Tops customers and race fans will now have the convenience of one-stop shopping when purchasing their tickets for the Global Crossing @ The Glen at a www.tickets.com outlet."

"With regional offices in Western and Central New York, Tickets.com is proud to be part of the local community. This local staff combined with Tops as a retail partner allows us to offer excellent service to our consumers. We are happy to be able to include Watkins Glen International to our growing list of prestigious motorsports clients such as Pikes Peak International Raceway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Daytona International Speedway," said Brian Peunic - Senior Vice President, Ticketing Services Group, Tickets.com.

Drivers from the upcoming NASCAR Winston Cup Series race at The Glen were on hand to help with the announcement and participate in a race for food benefiting the local Horseheads, NY food shelter. Ron Fellows, driver of the No. 87 Bully Hill Chevrolet was on-hand to race through the Tops market and collected items to donate to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.

"Anytime we can help Watkins Glen and their business partners raise money for something as valuable as the local food bank, we're happy to do it," said Fellows. "The Bully Hill team is looking forward to competing for a win at Watkins Glen, but participating in something like this makes us all feel like we're winners already."
