ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - "Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA), a pioneer of crossover vehicles designed for the active lifestyle, announced today a strategic partnership with the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA®). As part of this unique partnership, owners of the high-performance 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX models will receive a complimentary membership to the SCCA, the leading sanctioning body for professional and club road racing, rally and autocross events in the United States. The partnership also designates Subaru as an "Official Supporter of the SCCA."
In addition to the free membership, 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX owners will receive a special WRX/ SCCA decal to promote their membership and twelve issues of SportsCar magazine, the official publication of the SCCA. Available in mid-March, the 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX models are part of the new Subaru Driving Performance strategy.
"Subaru Impreza models have been a popular choice among SCCA competitors in club and professional categories, therefore, this partnership is a natural step for Subaru," said Bill Cyphers, Subaru of America, Inc. Vice President of Marketing. "We think enthusiasts will really respond to the world class performance of the 2002 Impreza WRX, which elevates the Impreza performance heritage to an all new level. The SCCA provides a great opportunity for WRX owners to experience their cars' capabilities, while pitting their skills against other drivers."
Testament to its all-weather, all-road capability, the All-Wheel Drive Subaru Impreza is the reigning 2000 SCCA ProRally Production GT Champion.
