Following the success of SportBusiness 2000, SportBusiness Group and Dow Jones Conferences are pleased to announce SportBusiness2001: The Main Event, to take place 18-20 April at the QEII Conference Centre in London, UK.
CEO of Jaguar Racing and US motor sport legend Bobby Rahal tops a list of key speakers. The high powered line-up also includes: Vernon Pugh, Chairman of the International Rugby Board; Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Vice President of FC Bayern München; Daniel Beauvois, Chief Executive Officer of ISSM Group; Ron Evans, Chairman of the Australian Football League; Istvan Gyulai, General Secretary of the International Amateur Athletics Federation; Jon Litner, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of the NHL and Jay Larkin, Senior Vice President, Sports & Event Programming of Showtime Network Inc.
"SportBusiness 2001 is a forum for the industry not a showcase for commercial presentations," said Kevin Roberts, Editorial Director of SportBusiness Magazine. "Our speakers are the main players whose decisions determine the direction of the industry and whose invaluable insights will help shape opinion and influence business strategy."
With an expected attendance of 600 delegates, the panel-led format lends itself to an in-depth discussion about the constantly changing business of sport, helping participants learn and prepare for the future. In particular, the impact of new media will be a theme that runs throughout the programme. The three-day agenda will address a variety of issues including:
* Do terrestrial broadcasters have a continuing role in sport?
* Developing and valuing sports brands;
* Realising the global potential of motor sport;
* How long can the sports boom last?
* The impact of the Internet on athletes.
