Organisers of the Belgian Grand Prix announced on Saturday that they have completed a 3.22 million Euros ($2.7 million) renovation of the host Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

The developments to Spa include an extension of the run off area at the Raidillon section of the track, and the laying of asphalt instead of gravel at the Blanchimont section.

The circuit organisers have also erected FIA regulated security fences around the track, while the new grandstand has been developed with more seats and the Fagnes grandstand has also been extended.

The developments have all been completed in plenty of time before the Belgian Grand Prix on September 2.
