SONOMA, Calif. (August 11, 2000) - Tim Schuldt has been named Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Sears Point Raceway, it was announced by raceway officials.

Schuldt, 36, comes to Sears Point Raceway at an exciting time as the facility embarks on a $35 million modernization plan that will transform the raceway into one of the premier motor racing and entertainment venues in the world. Some of the plans include sponsorable fan venues, permanent garage facilities, pedestrian tunnels, improved roadways to reduce traffic congestion and construction of scenic hillside terrace seats.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for both our fans and sponsors," Schuldt said. "The ultimate goal is to establish the most world-class entertainment facility in all of racing. In the process, we will also create incredible branding and sales opportunities for our sponsors. This is an exciting time to be at Sears Point Raceway."

Schuldt spent 12 years in Sales/Marketing and Sports Marketing for Coors Brewing Company and Pepsi. He also worked as the Director of Sponsor Marketing at the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). Schuldt is a graduate of Iowa State University.

"Tim's experience in brand-building and sponsor merchandising is perfectly matched with the opportunity we have before us - to introduce sports fans, competitors and the corporate community to the new Sears Point Raceway as it becomes a reality over the next two years. We are delighted to have him on board," said Steve Page, President and General Manager of Sears Point Raceway.

Schuldt, his wife Heather and daughter Anna, will relocate to the Bay Area from Southern California.
