KNOXVILLE, IOWA (MAY 30, 2001) - The much-anticipated book-signing by Johnny Rutherford scheduled for this Friday, June 1, at the National Sprint Car Museum in Knoxville has been cancelled. "Lone Star J.R." reluctantly called the museum this morning to let the staff know that, due to an unexpected change in plans, he needs to be in Fort Worth this weekend after five weeks in Indianapolis. He would like to reschedule the special autograph session for later this summer, if at all possible, and the museum is working towards that end.

All other events scheduled for this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday's twelfth National Sprint Car Hall of Fall induction weekend at the museum and at the Knoxville Raceway are "on" as planned:

Fri. June 1 6:45 p.m. Knoxville Raceway Goodyear Masters Classic & USAC NAPA 100 Qualifying

Sat. June 2 12 Noon Natl. Sprint Museum Induction Banquet

5 p.m. Natl. Sprint Museum Book-Signing: Brad Doty & Dave Argabright

6:45 p.m. Knoxville Raceway USAC NAPA 100 & Kin Folks/Magic Muffler 410 Sprints
