On Thursday 28th June Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh will visit Rockingham Motor Speedway to formally open the Rockingham Building, tour the new facilities and have lunch as guests of Rockingham.

The Duke of Edinburgh will arrive at the circuit and will be invited to tour the pit lane area where, in recognition of the contribution that the motorsport industry makes to the British economy, selected companies have been invited to exhibit their cars and products. Companies that have confirmed their presence include Reynard, Cosworth, Silverstone and British American Racing.

Her Majesty The Queen will arrive at Rockingham Motor Speedway after opening The Business Exchange in Kettering. The Corby Pipe Band will be playing as Her Majesty is invited to inspect displays by the three services and the St Johns Ambulance Brigade.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will then return to the Rockingham Building for lunch. After the conclusion of lunch Her Majesty will be invited by Mr. Peter Middleton, Chairman of Rockingham Motor Speedway, to unveil a plaque formally opening the Rockingham Building, before departing for further visits in the region.

"This is an immense honour for Rockingham, the newest motor racing circuit in the country," said Rockingham's Chief Executive David Grace. "We are very privileged that Her Majesty has recognised the enormous contribution the motorsport industry makes to the British economy and to employment in the Northamptonshire area."
