ENGLEWOOD, Colo.-In an effort to implement its strategic business plan, increase awareness and support its nearly 60,000 members, sponsors and other customers, the Sports Car Club of America, Inc. has made numerous changes, including the promotions of several key employees to propel the organization well into the 21st Century.

Dennis Dean has been promoted to Vice President of Business Development. Dean is responsible for the development and execution of the major strategic projects and initiatives that are being undertaken by SCCA®, including networking, web site development, World Rally, merchandising and Sports Car® magazine.

"It is imperative that we maximize and execute to our best ability these projects that will carry us forward and shape the future of the SCCA," said Steve Johnson, SCCA, Inc. President and CEO. "Dennis has the exact skill sets needed to lead the change in this area, while also understanding the need of all involved within the SCCA."

Patc Henry has been promoted to Director of Club Racing. Henry will oversee all facets of Club Racing.

"Patc's knowledge of Club Racing and the needs of our members is exceptional," said Johnson. "Club Racing has flourished under her leadership and will continue to do so into the future."

Tasha Goodale has been promoted to Director of Solo.

"Tasha's experience and expertise with Solo will allow the Solo department to continue to be the SCCA's fastest growing segment," said Johnson.

Kurt Spitzner has been promoted to Director of Rally.

"Kurt's passion, commitment and knowledge of Rally will enable the SCCA to grow Rally into one of the most exciting, extreme motorsports in the country," said Johnson.

Howard Duncan has been promoted to Director of Program Development. Duncan is responsible for developing programs for Club, Rally and Solo for the future. Duncan will work closely with the SCCA departments, membership and manufacturers in building future products.

"As the leader of grassroots motorsports, we must be looking five years ahead," said Johnson. "It is our responsibility to our members to develop programs that will continue to meet their needs both short and long term. Howard will continue his efforts with Solo until our staffing needs are solved, so there will be no inconvenience to our Solo community."

A search is currently underway for a Vice President of Sales and Marketing. That person will be responsible for the development of many initiatives spelled out in the SCCA Strategic Plan. Reporting into this position will be Doug Reed, Club Racing Marketing Manager; Sue Roethel, Member Services Region Activities Coordinator; and Nancy McMaster, Corporate Services Manager.

"I anticipate having this position filled in April," said Johnson. "The Sales and Marketing Department will be critical in assisting our regions in their development as well as making the SCCA a household name.

"This structure prepares and shapes the SCCA for both today and the future. It enables us to reward our staff, prepare for growth and, most importantly, serve our members and exceed their expectations."
