--Open Architecture, Historical Exhibitions Give Visitors Insider View of Unique Porsche Brand--
ATLANTA, APRIL 3, 2008----With much pride and anticipation, Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) today announced that the building of its state-of-the-art museum will be completed by the end of 2008. The Porsche Museum is located in Stuttgart, Germany, and will feature striking exhibits, a workshop for historic models, a conference center, restaurant, coffee bar and museum shop.
"We are pleased to know the construction at the Porscheplatz is proceeding smoothly," said Anton Hunger, Director Corporate Communications. "With over
40 different companies and up to 250 of the world's finest tradesmen and specialists currently at work, this museum will undoubtedly be one of the most remarkable structures of its kind."
The Porsche Museum will feature bold architecture that extends from one end of the building to the next. Visitors will experience three exhibit areas comprised of a workshop for customer-owned historic Porsche vehicles, a display of more than 300 vehicles that will eventually tour various cities throughout the world, as well as a revolving exhibit in which all 300 cars will rotate as one of 80 vehicles featured in the museum's standard exhibit at any given time. Arranged according to the chronology of Porsche history, vehicles will be grouped by time period and highlight the most significant models, racing classifications and technical innovations ever developed by Porsche. Rounding out the museum's offerings will be a conference center with spacious meeting rooms and high-class catering facilities.
