WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., March 12, 2001- Alfred Kobacker, CEO of AP Sports Group, Inc., announced today that AP Sports had contracted CyberSpeed Motorsports to represent the firm's Pilbeam Racing America division in the areas of marketing, public relations and customer relations. Pilbeam Racing America is the North and South American supplier of all Pilbeam racing cars. Pilbeam's range of cars includes both prototype sports cars and open wheel cars.
"We are very excited to be working with CyberSpeed," enthused Kobacker. "They're talented, knowledgeable about the business of racing and extremely creative! We have a number of assets going into this business, including outstanding race cars, excellent people and substantial, growing opportunities."
"Getting involved with Pilbeam Racing America is a great addition for CyberSpeed," said CyberSpeed Motorsports co-founder and Director of Marketing Chris Workman. "The organization has tremendous opportunities in terms of success on the track with the MP84, their ability to sell a race-proven customer car to ALMS and Grand-Am clients and the promotional power they possess. We have assembled a first-rate package with Pilbeam Racing America, and are looking forward to seeing what the 2001 season holds for all of us."
Currently, Pilbeam is offering its MP84 chassis for use in the Grand American Road Racing Association (Grand-Am) SRPII class but is anticipating expanding into the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) LMP 675 class as well. The MP84 is the 2000 FIA Sports Racer Light European champion and comes with factory support.
"We have a number of objectives in going to work with CyberSpeed," offered Kobacker. "First is creating awareness of Pilbeam, the cars and the organization. Second, we want to get drivers in the cars, teams racing them and Pilbeams on the podium in every race. To accomplish our objectives, with CyberSpeed, we are developing innovative investment programs which go beyond sponsorship. Properly funded through such investment, Pilbeam Racing America will expand testing, both for the purpose of car development and for letting drivers and prospective owners experience the car. It is our hope to run a 'works' racing program, the purpose of which is the continuous development of the cars in order to provide timely and sophisticated information both to the constructor and other teams racing Pilbeam cars."
CyberSpeed Motorsports will act, in part, as a marketing arm with Pilbeam to help determine potential Pilbeam partners as well as acquiring corporate partners for Pilbeam Racing America and its customer cars.
