[Oklahoma City] Aventis Behring L.L.C. will be full sponsor for the 2001 racing season for L & R Motorsports' NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series' #90 "Aventis Behring Choice Chevrolet Silverado". Co-owned by driver Lance Norick and his father, Ron Norick, L & R will continue the Victory Lane Kids program established in 1999. Developed for children with life-threatening illnesses or injuries, Victory Lane Kids gives the children involved the opportunity to attend a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race and participate in a variety of race-day activities.
"At Aventis Behring, our first priority is caring for our patients. Not only are we committed to providing them with quality therapies, we are dedicated to enhancing their life experience. Aventis Behring is the leader in developing patient programs that aid in the psychological aspects of healing. Last year, we sponsored Lance Norick's team for twelve races-and the year before that, just three. The success of Victory Lane Kids has been overwhelming. As a result, Aventis Behring will support every race and offer more chances for kids to attend Victory Lane Kids events throughout 2001," said Joe Pugliese, Aventis Behring, General Manager, Hemophilia Business Unit, North America. "For over eight years, Lance and I have focused on his professional racing career, funding it mainly through partial sponsors and out of our own pockets. Now that the team has secured the financial backing of one of the premier bleeding disorders corporations in the world, you will see us perform at a much higher level. We plan to mirror the company's performance and success with our racing team." Ron Norick said.
"Most of the children who came to the Victory Lane Kids events this year had never been to a NASCAR race. It was nice to be able to give them the opportunity to have fun and to forget about their illness, even if for just one day," said Lance Norick.
