MEADVILLE, PA (January 22) -- Pennsylvanian Ryan Keller has won the CHANNELLOCK Race to Vegas Sweepstakes.
This exciting motorsports-themed national promotion encouraged race fans to register to win an all-expense paid trip for two to Las Vegas for a weekend of motorsports thrills. In addition to the World of Outlaws Silver State Shootout scheduled March 1-3, Ryan and his party will attend the NASCAR Busch Series race March 3rd and the Winston Cup race March 4th.
The CHANNELLOCK Race to Vegas Sweepstakes began at the beginning of the 2000 World of Outlaws season last February and ended November 30, 2000. The sweepstakes was promoted with national motorsports print advertising -- primarily National SpeedSport News -- various motorsports related web-sites, such as www.hoseheads.com and on flyers, banners and public address announcements, which were distributed at World of Outlaws events. The winner was determined from a combination of entries received via the Channellock web site -- www.channellock.com -- as well as from winners selected in the CHANNELLOCK Dash drawings held at each of the 100-plus World of Outlaws events last season. Keller completed his entry at the Williams Grove National Open in Mechanicsburg, PA, last October.
Ryan, a native of Jones Mills, and an elementary education major at California University of Pennsylvania, is an avid World of Outlaws fan. Keller is extremely excited about the upcoming trip and a chance to spend time with World of Outlaws sprint car legend and CHANNELLOCK- sponsored driver Sammy Swindell.
"This is a great thrill," Keller said. "My dad and I always try to attend three or four Outlaws races a year, usually Lernerville, Williams Grove and the Knoxville Nationals. I just can't believe I've been this lucky. I never win anything and, thanks to CHANNELLOCK, I'm going to get to spend some up-close time with Sammy Swindell, as well as with their NASCAR team."
Accompanying Ryan on his trip will be his fiancee, Christine Greenawalt and his parents, Melvin & Shirley Keller.
"We were really pleased with fan response to the CHANNELLOCK Race to Vegas Sweepstakes," CHANNELLOCK Marketing Manager John Strizzi said. "Our participation in the World of Outlaws series is an important element of our total advertising and marketing plan. Race fans, particularly World of Outlaws fans, have been big supporters of CHANNELLOCK. We're extremely pleased with the number of entries we received both at the racetracks and the increased visits to our interactive web site. We're looking forward to a spending a great weekend of racing with Ryan Keller and his family."
