INDIANAPOLIS, May 27 - South Beach Beverage Co., which produces SoBe iced tea, juices and other fine beverages, will be an associate sponsor of Tri Star Motorsports' Kroger Dallara Aurora #6 driven by Indy Racing Northern Light Series Rookie of the Year point leader Jeret Schroeder beginning with tomorrow's Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

SoBe (short for South Beach) beverages carry the slogan "a healthy refreshment" because they are fortified with herbs and minerals.

The auto racing program includes signage on the Kroger #6 and a promotion at Kroger food stores that will carry throughout the summer. Kroger will feature SoBe products in its stores and in advertisements.

The announcement was made Saturday by Brian David, the key account manager for the Midwest for South Beach Beverage Co., based in Norwalk, Conn.

"We're pleased to become a partner of Kroger, the Tri Star team and Jeret Schroeder," David said. "South Beach Beverage Co. is the fastest-growing beverage company in the United States. We think the tie-in with motorsports, Tri Star and Jeret Schroeder is a perfect way to promote our line of SoBe iced tea and other beverages, which are 100 percent natural and made with the finest ingredients. From SoBe Zen Blend with triple ginseng and schizandra to SoBe Lizard Blizzard with echinacea, zinc and vitamin C, each SoBe beverage is formulated to achieve the optimal balance of health and refreshment.

"Jeret will be a perfect addition to our young and dynamic sports marketing team," David added. "He is a young star on his way up, just like SoBe beverages. We're both aggressive, competitive and interested in the latest health trends."

SoBe also sponsors ARCA stock car driver Norm Benning, PGA pro John Daly and pro beach volleyball player and model Gabrielle Reese.

"Everyone at Tri Star Motorsports and the Kroger team is pleased to welcome SoBe on board," Schroeder said. "SoBe invented healthy refreshment. Its products provide natural wellness benefits and are fun to drink. I hope all racing fans will look for the SoBe lizard at Kroger. I particularly like the SoBe power line myself."
