INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 3 - Dr. Jack Miller has not been idle while he's recuperating from injuries sustained in a crash April 28 during the Indy Racing event at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Instead, the popular racing dentist, a true team player, is administering the Pringles© potato chip sponsorship which he secured earlier this year through the Dallara driven by his Cahill Racing teammate, Robby McGehee.
Dr. Miller, Cahill Racing and McGehee successfully conducted a trip give-away for Pringles©' parent company, Procter & Gamble, at the series' last race, the Harrah's Indy 200 at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway on July 21. Lois and James Clark of Orlando, Fla., were the happy winners of the trip, which included their being the special guests of Cahill Racing and McGehee that weekend.
Other parts of the Pringles© program will be conducted at the next race, the Belterra Resort Indy 200 Aug. 12 at Kentucky Speedway, and at the season finale, the Excite 500 Sept. 16 at Texas Motor Speedway.
McGehee suffered a broken leg, a concussion and cracked ribs at the first race at Texas on June 9, and he missed subsequent events at Pikes Peak International Raceway in Colorado and Richmond International Raceway in Virginia. Despite being on crutches, he returned to competition only a month after the Texas accident and finished tenth July 8 at Kansas Speedway and an incredible fourth at the Nashville race July 21.
"Both Dr. Jack and I are not people who like to sit still," McGehee said. "He's doing really well but he's not quite ready to race again yet, so I'm glad that he's turning his attention to something our team really needs T sponsorship. He has a solid reputation as someone who not only can secure sponsorships but as someone who develops programs for sponsors that work. I'm very grateful that he's working with Cahill Racing and me while he recuperates."
In addition to Pringles©, McGehee's car will carry the logos of Parallaxmusic.com, the Cincinnati Airport Marriott and Dollar Rent-a-Car at the Kentucky race Aug. 12.
