GLENDORA, Calif. (Feb. 28, 2001) - FRAM automotive filters, a division of Honeywell Consumer Products, has reached a multi-year agreement with the National Hot Rod Association to become the Official Filter of NHRA, NHRA Vice President of Sales and Business Development Bob Wagner announced.
As the Official Filter of NHRA, FRAM will receive increased visibility at all NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series events. FRAM also will become more visible in NHRA television programming on ESPN and its family of networks, as the company will sponsor the 'FRAM Instant Replay of the Week', to be shown on 24 NHRA Heat telecasts.
"We're excited about our relationship with the NHRA as its Official Filter," said Jeffrey Bye, vice president of marketing for FRAM. "We've had great success in marketing our products through partnerships with the NHRA in the past. The fan base of NHRA drag racing represents a great match with our targeted customers. With greater visibility in all of NHRA's national race series' and programs through this official sponsorship, we look forward to generating even more awareness and recognition for the FRAM brand."
As part of the agreement, FRAM will maintain several ongoing NHRA programs, including primary sponsorship of Rhonda Hartman-Smith's Top Fuel dragster. FRAM also will continue to be the title sponsor of the FRAM Autolite Nationals, a Winston Drag Racing Series event at Sears Point Raceway, Sonoma, Calif.
In addition, FRAM is an active associate sponsor for many NHRA professional teams, including 10-time Winston Funny Car champion John Force. FRAM also participates in NHRA's lucrative contingency program.
