Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has been announced as the new chairman of Fiat after the death of Umberto Agnelli last week. Along with the announcement came the news that Fiat chief executive Giuseppe Morchio had resigned.

In regard to Formula One, it is believed that Jean Todt, the team principal, who was recently promoted to Ferrari managing director, will take over di Montzemolo's role as president of the Ferrari Maserati group.

Ferrari F1 technical director Ross Brawn may be stepping into Todt's position as team boss, if Todt relinquishes the role. It's unknown if Brawn will continue as technical director as well. There has been no official confirmation yet from Ferrari in regard to any changes.
